Central Square-Parque Central Antigua Guatemala

As with most Latin American cities, the central square or Parque Central, is truly the heart of the city, the Antigua Guatemala this town square, with tree-lined streets and old colonial buildings, is a popular gathering place for locals and tourists.

Parque Central is the heart of Antigua and has the main cathedral and the colonial government buildings. It is also the center of the tourist district and the side streets leading off the plaza are full of restaurants and shops.

Central Park is a great place to get a quick feel for Antigua or if you get lost head here as it is a great reference point for to reorient yourself. Come here to relax, buy an ice cream off a local vendor or get your shoes shined by one of the local kids.

The Central Park in Antigua is a green-space with tall trees, that provide a lot of shade, many park-benches are available, often occupied, especially on the weekend, and many local people visit the park with their families and they are many vendors selling textiles & jewelry. Located in the best-preserved Spanish colonial city in Central America. Stroll the cobblestone streets, lounge with the locals in Central Park on sunny afternoons or hike up one of the volcanoes overlooking the city for amazing views.
